Vets Are Relieved. But What Does the Dramatic Fall in French Bulldog and Pug Numbers Mean

Royal Kennel Club figures show French Bulldog registrations have dropped 37% year on year, with Pugs down 43% — just 126 registered in the first three months of 2026, down from a peak of over 54,000 in 2021. Vets are welcoming the trend. The picture, though, is more complicated than it first appears.
